The DfE will be delivering more CO2 monitors

Quick Navigation

Nov 29 2022

Last year, the DfE provided CO2 monitors to 50 percent of teaching spaces in state-funded education settings, to help monitor indoor ventilation and manage transmission of airborne illnesses.

The DfE has announced that it will be delivering CO2 monitors to the remaining 50 percent of spaces from Monday 28 November – schools will receive notification in advance to confirm the date of delivery. You may wish to use our model Ventilation Policy and Ventilation Audit to review your school’s current approach to ventilation.

Applications reopen for DfE-funded air cleaning units – In addition to providing more CO2 monitors, the DfE will be reopening applications for receiving DfE-funded air cleaning units.

The units can be used in classrooms where adequate ventilation cannot be achieved through other means. You can apply for the units here before applications close on 10 February 2023. The DfE also has guidance available on how to apply.
