This training session is part of the ‘Attachment & Learning Series’. H&F Virtual School are offering a series of training sessions and webinars this academic year to support those working with vulnerable children and young people. The sessions will be delivered online by Educational Psychologists.

This is part of a DfE initiative to allow Virtual School Head Teachers to share their knowledge and expertise of working with Children Looked After to improve educational outcomes for all children with a social worker.

The next available session in the Attachment & Learning Series is:

This session is suitable for social care and education professionals who work with young people aged 11-18 years. This session will;

  • Explore what neuroscience can tell us about adolescent brain development and how this links with the developmental tasks of adolescence
  • Reflect on social influences in adolescent decision making and risk taking behaviour
  • Discuss healthy risk taking behaviour and individual differences and vulnerabilities in risk taking
  • Discuss how professionals can support young people navigate decision making during adolescence and use case studies to reflect on practice

All participants will receive a certificate of attendance and access to a resource pack following the session.
