This popular, online training is for any member of staff at the start of or in the early stages of working in a supportive/advisory role with parents and families e.g. Parent Support Adviser, Family Support Worker, Pastoral Lead, Attendance Lead.
The training helps equip delegates with the knowledge, skills and confidence to both support and advise parents/carers in their parenting role so that their children develop, achieve and thrive at school.
The training consists of 4 x 1.5 hour online training sessions. Delegates are required to access all sessions.
£150 per person from a non-Partner School – to cover all 4 sessions
£100 per person from a Partner School – to cover all 4 sessions
The online training includes units to enable delegates to:

Learn ways to promote positive relationships between home and school and increase all parents’ involvement with school and engagement in learning

Develop skills in communicating effectively with parents/carers/families

Develop a partnership model of working

Recognise resilience in a family and adopt a strengths based approach

Develop the use of contracting skills and help families set goals
- Evaluate and demonstrate the impact of the family support role
