Early Years – Messy play/sensory exploration in the Early Years

  • January 28, 2022
    10:00 am - 12:00 pm

This course will provide you with an understanding of the importance of sensory exploration for children in the early years.   We will show you various ways how your children can use their hands, fingers, feet and toes to understand their senses and make marks, helping strengthen their core muscles.  Children that have fun developing their motor skills and mark making through messy play, become more prepared and confident in their exploration of the sensory world around them. Our messy play course has been designed for children in the early years to assign meaning to their marks, which sparks creativity and exploration. Our aim is to make sensory play fun and encourage every child to make their mark through messy play & much more.

Messy Play has many benefits and unlimited learning opportunities for your children.  You will develop a good understanding of the following areas.  How to:

  • Stimulate their senses and allow opportunity to explore new materials
  • Manipulate and mould materials which will strengthen core muscles and motor skills
  • Engage in sensory play which supports cognitive growth and language development
  • Develop their fine motor skills, hand-eye coordination and eventually pencil grip for early writing
  • Socialise and build relationships with other children and adults through play
