In this session, we will explore how to teach and learn grammar in interactive, inclusive and engaging ways.  We will explore and experience a range of teaching strategies and resources to teach grammar in meaningful contexts with direct application in pupils’ writing.

• To develop teacher subject knowledge so that they are confident to teach the statutory requirements for grammar and punctuation, KS2
• To explore a range of activities and resources to teach grammar creatively and interactively

Course content

Understanding simple sentences – exploring phrases and clauses

Using multi-clause sentences to build cohesion

Adding description and colour to your writing from adjectives to expanded noun phrases: adverbs to adverbial phrases
