EY: Voluntary Food and Drink Guidelines – Evaluation request

Quick Navigation

Jun 16 2023

If you can kindly complete this survey on the meals, drinks and snacks you provide in your setting, in addition to sending through a copy of your menu. The data will be used to put together support for early years settings across England.

Please see message below from the Health Education Trust and London Met

Health Education Trust are collaborating with London Metropolitan University to carry out an evaluation around the Voluntary food and drink guidelines for early years settings in England (also referred to as Eat better, start better).

The voluntary food and drink guidelines set out how to meet the EYFS welfare requirement ‘Where children are provided with meals, snacks and drinks, they must be healthy, balanced and nutritious’ (3.48).

The evaluation will seek to find issues and challenges related to the implementation of the voluntary food and drink guidelines across early years settings and the type of support that would be helpful for early years settings to meet the guidelines.  The data will be used to put together useful tools, techniques and support for early years settings across England.

The evaluation survey should take approximately 10 minutes. Once you have completed the form, it would be very helpful if you could also send a copy of your menu or link to your menu on your website  to admin@healtheducationtrust.com.

Thank you for taking the time to complete this evaluation survey

Thank you for your time and support.

Kind Regards,

Sarah Sabir
