Local Authority Staff Visiting Schools – recruitment compliance. Jan Parnell update

Quick Navigation

Sep 30 2021

I am aware that periodically individual schools write to the Local Authority Designated Officer (LADO) or to HR seeking confirmation of DBS checks for social work and other council staff who are visiting schools to see children.

I have considered how best we might reassure you regarding confirmation of recruitment compliance for non-teaching professional staff including Social Workers, Educational Psychologists and other staff employed by the London Borough of Hammersmith and Fulham who frequently work with children in schools individually and in groups. I am writing to provide confirmation that such council staff have been subject to an enhance DBS check and have undergone pre-employment checks in line with the relevant regulations and in particular Keeping Children Safe in Education.
All staff are, of course, required to provide proof of identity when they visit your school and I confirm that you should accept a photographic Hammersmith and Fulham Council ID badge as providing this proof.
