Tuesday 16th May 2023. 1.30-2.45pm (schools performance)
Cadogan Hall, 5 Sloane Terrace, London, SW1X 9DQ
Suitable for KS2, KS3 and KS4 students
‘Our first big event featuring upscaled work sits alongside a brand new commission receiving its first public performance at concerts on 16th May in Cadogan Hall – The Gazillium Music Machine. The concert programme derives from projects our teams have conducted with a number of London schools but more importantly provides a springboard for future English Chamber Orchestra education & community projects.
During the concert performance poet Sophia Thakur will narrate The Gazillium Music machine, a work that she has penned with composer Sally Herbert. Alongside this professionally crafted work and a performance of Copland’s wonderful ‘Appalachian Spring‘, the audience will be treated to a performance of ‘Amelia and the Robot’. The script for this work was written by students at KS2 with a score composed by students of the THAMES Saturday Music Centre.

The 6pm show is a public ticketed event – a twilight performance that we expect will appeal to families, older school students, community groups. We’ve definitely got discount codes for £7.50 tickets that can be used via the Cadogan booking system – there may be discounted opportunities depending on numbers and group size etc.
