The recent Childminder Forum, hosted by the Early Years Team, provided a valuable opportunity for childminders across the borough to connect, share experiences, and explore key initiatives shaping early years practice.

A key focus of the session was the SENCO Hub of Knowledge (SHoK) Working Party, which uses Padlet as a collaborative online platform.

Padlet online tool

Padlet is a tool that ensures that voices from across the sector, including childminders, PVI settings, and maintained nurseries, are represented and heard.

The Eys SENCOs Padlet works as a central hub for:

  • Quick access to key resources for SENCos
  • collaboration and sharing
  • professional development supporting ongoing learning
  • consistency and high-quality SEND provision across settings

The session also focused on the One Page Profile template:

  • This resource supports practitioners in capturing and sharing key information about children’s needs in a consistent and person-centred way
  • the template is now included in the ‘Ordinarily Available Provision Guidance’ (page 48) and accessible via the SENCO Padlet

We encourage all Early Years providers to explore the resources shared during the forum:
Access the SENCO Padlet and follow the steps to register/sign in the Early Years SENCos Padlet
