School Business Managers Resources

The H&F SBM Network has been in place for over 10 years. The members have always valued the support and networking opportunities the network has offered over the years. We are now providing a central hub of advice, guidance and support for all School Business Leaders (SBLs) across the local authority.

The  vision and aims of the H&F SBL Hub are:-

  • To continue to provide a local network of School Business Leaders who work together to support each other
  • To provide opportunities for:-
    • Sharing good practice
    • Joint CPD events/workshops/keynote speakers
    • Collaborative purchasing, negotiating discounts/special prices
    • Income generation ideas
    • Providing feedback from our region to local and national bodies
    • Signposting information/relevant CPD opportunities
    • Mentor support to new SBLs as well as an induction programme

We achieve this by offering:-

  • A secure online forum for SBL's to share their knowledge and ideas
  • Half termly face to face network meetings with presentations on current matter

Membership is open to anyone who works within a school business environment in the Hammersmith and Fulham, in any phase or type of school e.g. maintained, academy, primary, special, early years etc. No matter what your job title is, School Business Manager, Finance Manager – you are welcome to join us! Schools financial value standard (SFVS)_ checklist guidance - GOV.UK

Schools_financial_value_standard_SFVS_checklist_2024-25

The SFVS is a self-assessment that should be undertaken by schools to ensure the effective financial management of their resources.

It is a statutory requirement that all maintained schools complete and submit the SFVS and Template to the local authority (LA) on an annual basis. However, the SFVS will not be externally assessed; the LA will use the school's returns to inform their programme of financial assessment and audit. This document is updated closer to the deadline, please check back to ensure you are working with the most recent release.

All H&F schools must complete and submit the SFVS and Template to the LA by 31 March each year.

Email the SFVS in a Word format and the Related Party Transaction template (Nil returns required) in an Excel format to Education Finance and retain a signed copy in school.

For any general queries please contact the Schools Financial Services team.
